Belief Art
As I shared stories about the power of Belief to the children of MCH (Missionary Children’s Home) I also saw an opportunity for them to practice this aspect of Love.
“I have a challenge for each of you. I brought 50 new markers and the first thing I would like you to create with these markers is “Belief Art”. I want you to pick a name of someone in MCH and then take time to think about that person. What color is their favorite? What activities do they like? What are they good at? What makes them special? Then I want you to use the colors they like and write these words down. Draw things that remind you of them. Then give it to them.”
The kids agreed and a few days later I received their work. It was awesome to see their creativity. It was so fun to invite them to practice BELIEF through creative art for one another. Children need to be given opportunity to practice finding what is good and beautiful about others, and then encouraged to speak it to them. We must disciple our children to speak life and not death.
Here are a few of their “Belief Art” pages.
It was amazing to see how this impacted their hearts! They felt empowered to bring someone life and they saw how it positively impacted others. They also felt the impact of being seen for something good and not something bad. This is how we grow sons and daughters of God. We speak words of life to them, and challenge them to also speak words of life to others.
If you have children, this is a good way to disciple them to be creative with the good things they see in others. Encourage them to create art that shows that and then discuss it with them. Encourage them to speak the words they see about others that are good - not to be silent but to speak.
For yourself, do you speak words of belief daily? “Encourage one another daily….so that you are not hardened by the deceitfulness of sin”. Words of life are so critical and necessary in our daily life. Why? Because they protect us from being deceived by the enemy so that we don't live a lie! The enemy wants us to live as men and women disconnected from the truth, power, courage and beauty of who we are as sons and daughters of God! This is why we must “encourage one another daily”, to protect our hearts from lies and stand in the truth.
If any of you practice this with your children, we would love to see some of your “belief art”. Even if you create this as an adult! Send us your powerful and creative work!
